Wouldn't it be great to be able to save to a file every bit of text you copy, in the order you copied it? With this capability you could go on the net and quickly grab item after item with no limit on the number you collect. Later when you're off-line you could open this giant text file and read through the hundreds of clips that you copied while online. It would be faster and easier than trying to switch between two documents over and over, even with ten clipboards. Well, now it's possible with 'CopyPaste Clip Archive,' a feature available only to registered users.
To use it, first register your copy of CopyPaste. Then select some text. Now activate the 'CopyPaste Clip Archive' feature in one of the following ways:
1. type ‘⌘ C’ and hit the spacebar,
2. click on the document button in the Clip Extender Palette and choose “Clip Archive 0” from the popup menu, or
3. pull down the “Edit -> CopyPaste Utilities -> Archive” submenu and choose “Clip Archive 0.”
The first time you do this a folder called 'CopyPaste Clip Archive' is created on the desktop. Inside the folder is a text file called 'Clip Archive 0' containing your selected text. From then on, every time you use one of the above commands the clip will be appended to this text file.
Within the 'CopyPaste Clip Archive' folder you can create up to ten separate text files of your clips. For example, to create a text file called 'Clip Archive 4':
1. type ‘⌘ C spacebar’ and hit a number (‘⌘ C spacebar 4’, etc.),
2. click on the document button in the Clip Extender Palette and choose “Clip Archive 4” from the popup menu, or
3. pull down the “Edit -> CopyPaste Utilities -> Archive” submenu and choose “Clip Archive 4.”
These text files (and even their folder) can be deleted and new ones can be created at any time.
The default name for each file is Clip Archive 1, Clip Archive 2, etc... but these names can be changed in the preferences or by selecting "Rename Clip Archives" from either the document button menu or the “Edit -> CopyPaste Utilities -> Archive” submenu.
If you press the option key when selecting an archive, then the selected text will not be copied to the archive: instead, the entire archive will be loaded in the current clipboard.
